1. Who we are

CleanSL8 is a cleaning services company operating in Dartford, Kent and South East London. We provide domestic and commercial cleaning services including Airbnb turnovers, home cleans, deep cleans, end-of-tenancy cleans and builders cleans.

2. What data we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you book a clean, request a quote, create an account, or contact us. This may include:

  • Name and contact details (email address, phone number)
  • Property address and access instructions
  • Booking preferences and service requirements
  • Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider)
  • Communications and feedback you send us
  • Cleaner application details, including work history, availability, travel areas and pay expectations
  • Recruitment documents such as CVs, identity and Right-to-Work evidence, and optional DBS or insurance documents

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide and manage cleaning services you have requested
  • Communicate with you about bookings, appointments and updates
  • Process payments and send invoices
  • Send service-related notifications and reminders
  • Improve our services and customer experience
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Assess cleaner applications, conduct onboarding, verify eligibility and communicate recruitment decisions

4. Legal basis for processing

Under UK data protection law, we process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Contract: Processing necessary to fulfil our cleaning service agreement with you
  • Legitimate interests: Running our business, improving services, and keeping records
  • Legal obligation: Complying with laws and regulations
  • Consent: Where you have given explicit permission, such as for marketing communications

5. How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with:

  • Our cleaning staff and contractors who perform services at your property
  • Payment processors to handle transactions
  • Service providers who assist with our operations (e.g. scheduling software, email delivery)
  • Regulators or authorities when required by law

All third parties are contractually bound to keep your data secure and use it only for the purposes we specify.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Typically, we retain booking and payment records for 6 years in line with UK tax laws. Marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw consent. Unsuccessful cleaner applications and related documents are normally deleted or anonymised within 12 months of the final recruitment decision, unless we need to retain them for a legal claim or you ask us to consider you for future work. Successful applicant records become part of the cleaner onboarding and working relationship record and are retained only for the applicable legal and operational period.

Recruitment and cleaner applications

We use cleaner application information to assess suitability, contact applicants, prevent duplicate or fraudulent applications, arrange onboarding, verify identity and Right-to-Work evidence, and decide whether a cleaner may access work. Access is restricted to authorised administrators and service providers supporting recruitment, secure storage and email delivery. We do not make a final recruitment decision solely by automated means. Applicants may request access, correction or deletion using the contact details below.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (the "right to be forgotten")
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
